After a healthy wait and an almost overwhelming amount of teasers, the new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is finally here. Well, not here just yet—we’ll have to wait a bit more before it arrives at El Cajon Mitsubishi—but at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.
The 2016 Outlander is the first automaker’s first production vehicle to embrace the brand’s new design language, lending itself to an eye-catching appearance, especially at the front. The half-chrome, half-blacked out front fascia says “look at me” while the rest is more traditional, but tasteful enough to attract just about any customer.
While the engine will probably be a carryover from last year’s 2.4-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter V6, Mitsubishi promises that the new CTV will help improve acceleration and “shift feel.” Other updates, including a more composed chassis, rigid body structure, and sound insolation, should also make the 2016 Outlander even more pleasant to drive.
