As we wait with bated breath for the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid, that will don the new Outlander styling, to cross the pond in the Spring of 2016 and enter into the US auto market, rumors have now surfaced that the Japanese motor company is considering the release of more plug-in options, which will most likely be crossovers.

Don Swearingen, Mitsubishi Motors North America executive vice president, indicated at the New York Auto Show that both hybrid powertrains and crossovers would, “become pillars of the company’s future product strategy.”

So what are the two other Mitsubishi Plug-In Hybrid crossovers that may join the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid? First is the Concept XR-PHEV which was introduced at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, and the second is the larger Concept GC-PHEV, which bears a strong resemblance to the Mitsubishi Montero off-roader.
