Whether it’s a spill or a cigarette someone lit in your car, unwanted odors can be a pain to get rid of. Fortunately there are cost-effective solutions that could leave you with a better smelling car. It’s even likely you have everything you need at home. Here are a few things you can do to remove smells from a car!
- Cat Litter – Designed to eliminate and mask odors, cat litter is very effective in a car. Leave a bowl of fresh litter in your car overnight. By morning, it will have soaked up and eliminated the smell, leaving your car nearly odorless. Even better, the litter is reusable!
- Citrus Peels – As it turns out, citrus peels are just as useful for removing unwanted smells as they are at protecting fruit. After breakfast, throw some peels into a cup and let them sit in the car for the day. Make sure the windows are up! By the end of the day, the peels will have absorbed the smell and left your car with a fruity scent many people pay for.
- Charcoal – Leaving a bag of charcoal in the back of your car is incredibly effective at eliminating odors. If left overnight with the windows up, the charcoal will absorb the unwanted smell. Best of all, you can still use the charcoal for a weekend barbecue!
