The 2018 Outlander is the ideal family vehicle, as it offers space, high-tech entertainment, and, above all, safety. In fact, the SUV recently earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating, demonstrating just how well this vehicle keeps you protected on the road.

According to The News Wheel, the Outlander earned the second-highest safety award possible from the IIHS, the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. The IIHS is a non-profit agency that tests vehicles each year to determine which cars are the safest. In particular, this year’s tests included tests like front passenger crashes and headlights.

“Thanks to our advanced safety features and technology, the Mitsubishi Outlander continues to achieve IIHS safety ratings for the fifth consecutive year,” said Don Swearingen, executive VP at Mitsubishi North America. “The Outlander remains a leader in reliability and dependability, and we are proud to receive this recognition by one of the most reputable organizations in the industry.”

Some 2018 Outlander safety features include Hill Start Assist, available Blind Spot Warning, Adaptive Cruise, and Forward Collision Mitigation.
