This February, Mitsubishi announced that there will be a new president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America beginning April 1. Fred Diaz will replace Ryujiro Kobashi as Mitsubishi propels itself into the future with new vehicles and new technology on offer within the states.
Fred Diaz comes to the table with 29 years of experience in sales, marketing, and customer relations within the United States. Ryujiro Kobashi, on the other hand, will return to Tokyo to assume a top sales role. El Cajon Mitsubishi is excited by this change and hopes the new Mitsubishi CEO will help the brand grow in popularity among American drivers.
As Chief Operating Officer Trevor Mann stated, “The United States is a strategic market for Mitsubishi Motors in our Drive for Growth plan. With his in-depth background and experience in North America, Fred has a strong ability to proactively engage with Mitsubishi Motors’ dealers and customers as we aim to expand our dealership network, enhance our brand, and drive sales growth.”
In 2017, Mitsubishi achieved the exciting title of being the fastest-growing non-luxury brand in the U.S. This past December, the one-of-a-kind Outlander PHEV—a plug-in hybrid crossover SUV with advanced all-wheel drive—launched in the states, and March marked the U.S. arrival of the all-new Eclipse Cross compact crossover.
In the coming years, Mitsubishi is sure to continue distinguishing itself as an innovative, pioneering brand, and we hope that American drivers are ready to embrace the change coming their way in the form of stylish, state-of-the-art vehicles.
