In just a few weeks, we will celebrate what many consider to be the start of summer: Memorial Day. Most of us will enjoy a three-day weekend and make some fun plans with our families. But, we cannot forget what the true meaning of Memorial Day is: a day to remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Here are a few ways that you can spend Memorial Day in San Diego.

Veterans Museum at Balboa Park

This beautiful museum honors the men and women who served in the various branches of the United States military. It is located in Balboa Park next to the B-24 Memorial. While the museum is not open on Memorial Day, you can visit the anytime Tuesday-Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Soledad National Veterans Memorial

This unique memorial, honors veterans from the Revolutionary War through modern combat missions. The Memorial Walls include the names of more than 5,900 veterans. There will be a special Memorial Day celebration on May 28th

USS Midway Museum

From May 26th through the 28th, the Midway Museum will be honoring our heroes with a variety of events including a blood drive, benefit concert, wreath ceremony, and interactive exhibits.
