When it comes to purchasing a vehicle, potential buyers often look to the automakers who have received industry-leading awards in recent years. For 2018, Mitsubishi is one such brand. The automaker was just named the “Best Economic Performance Brand” as well as the “Best All-Around Performance Brand” by the respected Automotive Science Group. The awards don’t end there, as the 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage earned two titles of its own – “Best Economic Performance Car” and “Best 5 All-Around Performance” – and the 2018 Outlander/Outlander PHEV earned a “Best 5 All-Around Performance” award.
The Automotive Science Group (ASG) evaluates brands and models in three main categories to determine award-winners: environmental, social, and economic. This year, Mitsubishi boasted consistent, exceptional performance across all models, and outcompeted 32 other automotive brands to earn the top spot.
To win these overall brand awards, the Mitsubishi Mirage and Outlander/Outlander PHEV played a key role. In its segment, the Mirage competed against 355 other small cars to earn a prestigious top-five spot in all-around performance. It snagged the title of “Best Economic Performance Car” spot for its unsurpassed value, low operating costs, and small carbon footprint. The Outlander/Outlander PHEV competed against 371 models in the SUV segment, outperforming its competition by an impressive 22% in terms of value and performance.” As noted by ASG, “By adding a plug-in powertrain to the 2018 Outlander SUV, Mitsubishi reveals a smart path for a brand with boundless potential.”
