At the 89th annual Geneva Motor Show in March, Mitsubishi finally unveiled the long-awaited, all-new 2020 ASX compact SUV.

The 2020 ASX subcompact SUV will feature a larger touchscreen than current Mitsubishi models, improved Apple CarPlay™ integration, LED front and tail lights, and a fully refreshed exterior aesthetic, including an updated rear fascia and bumper design and a “Dynamic Shield” grille. Mitsubishi is also developing an integrated app to help ASX owners track their vehicle’s data, like fuel level and warning lights, right on their phones. The app will also help owners remember to complete their regular vehicle service with in-phone alerts and warnings.

The 2020 Mitsubishi ASX will feature a naturally-aspirated (meaning it does not utilize a turbocharger or supercharger for oxygen intake) 2.0-liter gasoline engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, with an optional Continuously Variable Valve Transmission. The ASX will be available in front- and all-wheel drive versions, and though it will currently only slated for launch in Europe, we have high hopes it will make its way to the States soon enough.

Across the planet, drivers adore the Mitsubishi ASX; it even holds the distinguished honor of being the best-selling small SUV on the continent of Australia. With its impressive array of updates and improvements, our guess here at El Cajon Mitsubishi is that we’ll be seeing a lot more love for the ASX subcompact SUV line in the future from just about all corners of the earth.
