Have you taken the 59-mile beautiful scenic drive through San Diego yet? If not, you may want to give it a try. It’s arguably the best San Diego scenic drive and, in our humble opinion at El Cajon Mitsubishi, possibly one of the best scenic drives in the county.
The entire loop only takes about three hours, so you could complete the drive in one go if you really wanted, or you could do separate legs of the drive on different days, giving you time to relax and relish the various beautiful views and destinations along the way.
The City of San Diego has marked the entire route — every quarter mile — with blue and yellow signs bearing a white seagull, though they do warn that some of the seagull signs may be missing or turned, so make sure you map out your route before embarking so you don’t get lost.
The recommended starting spot is in Embarcadero/Downtown and heads north past the Broadway Pier by the Bay, where you can soak in some of San Diego’s fine maritime history. The loop continues north to Harbor Island, Spanish Landing, Point Loma, past USC’s San Diego campus, to Pacific Beach, Old Town State Historic Park, and past the San Diego Zoo (be sure to stop here, you won’t be disappointed!), before arriving back at the Headquarters at Seaport Village.
There are really too many great attractions to list here, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled on the trip for all the beautiful, sunny, Californian treasures along the way. And remember, the car you drive is just as important as where you drive it. Find the perfect ride at El Cajon Mitsubishi!
