Everybody likes options, especially when that means you can go uphill faster. Mitsubishi understands that better than anyone. This would explain why the automaker has added an exciting new engine option to the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
The Outlander Sport is Mitsubishi’s sleek and capable compact crossover. The engine bump will be available in two trim levels—the Outlander Sport ES and Outlander Sport GT. The new motor is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder making 167 horsepower and pumping out 168 lb-ft of torque. Power is driven by a continuously-variable transmission (CVT).
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT not only comes with the option of the 2.4-liter engine, it also comes with “a power driver’s seat, black roof rails and LED turn signals in the mirrors,” according to AutoBlog. Pick up the GT with the premium package and you’ll get “an upgraded stereo, moonroof and auto-dimming rearview mirror.”
This new engine for the Outlander Sport should appease those still grieving the upcoming loss of the Lancer EVO.
